Abstract INTRODUCTION: DESPITE THE SCIENTIFIC ADVANCES IN ASSISTED REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES (ART), BOTH CLINICAL PREGNANCY AND LIVE BIRTH RATES REMAIN LOW. IN THE PAST DECADE, A NEW TECHNIQUE TO SELECT SPERMATOZOON UNDER HIGH MAGNIFICATION MICROSCOPY (OVER 6000x) WAS DESCRIBED. WITH THIS NEW METHOD, SUBCELLULAR ORGANELLE MALFORMATIONS CAN BE IDENTIFIED. USING THESES GAMETES FOR INTRACYTOPLASMIC INJECTION MIGHT IMPROVE ART OUTCOMES.OBJECTIVES: TO COMPARE INTRACYTOPLASMATIC SPERM INJECTION (ICSI) AND INTRACYTOPLASMATIC MORPHOLIGICALLY SELECTED SPERM INJECTION (IMSI) MAJOR OUTCOMES: LIVE BIRTHS, CLINICAL PREGNANCY AND MISCARRIAGE.METHODS: RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIALS FOUND IN THE MAIN ELECTRONIC DATABASES WILL BE INCLUDED. DATA WILL BE COMBINED FOR A METANALYSIS. NO DATE OR LANGUAGE RESTRICITION WILL BE IMPOSED. | |
