Abstract

This project aims to investigate the functioning of political discourses broadcasted on the websites of the major candidates for mayor of São Paulo, among them: José Serra, Fernando Haddad, and Celso Russomanno referring to the pre-election period, Election 2012. We will analyze these websites in a comparative way to the presidential candidates' websites, in the elections, election 2010, in order to observe the changes that occurred, the strategies used, verbal and non-verbal resources, among other aspects, based on the theory of French Discourse Analysis. As websites become interactive, and somehow they can be confounded with blogs, or they overlap them, because they can be updated at any time, the government program and the actions reported by the candidates in the websites, acquire new formats, amplified by the verb-visual resources available in that media. These characteristics are present in contemporary society, in political discourse, demand analysis, so we can understand how new technologies affect the mode of formation and formulation of political discourse.(AU)
