Abstract

The objective of this project is the synthesis of azo dyes which can later be used for studies to capture greenhouse gases. The azo dyes may be prepared by the copulation of diazonium salts of p-substituted benzene with molecules of N, N-(di-ethanol) aminobenzene, this activity is already held in the Thin Organic Chemistry Laboratory. To confirm the synthesis of carbonates synthesized spectroscopy techniques will be used in the region of Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), and mass spectrometry (MS). The proposed design aims at preparing hydroxylated azocompostos like molecules that subsequently may have potential as organic materials for capture and sequestration of carbon dioxide, which presents environmental relevance. This project is inserted into the lines of research Development of Carbon Dioxide Chemistry and Utilization of CO2 in the Synthesis of Organic Carbonates and Carbamates, developed at the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry Fina FCT-UNESP, a campus of Presidente Prudente.(AU)
