Abstract

The research project clarifies the process of cooperation between the University of São Paulo, represented by the Laboratório de Matemática Aplicada e Computação Científica and the University of Western Ontario, represented by the Laboratory for Complex Flow Systems and Cyber Engineering. The emphasizes of the split PhD is the search for a better understanding of the physical transitional flow mechanisms associated with the interaction between factors such as the pressure gradient and curvature terms. Specifically, this project prioritizes the adequacy of the numerical code - the final product of the PhD thesis - to problems of interest to both research groups, and their subsequent use in order to generate and explore data.
