Abstract

We aimed to investigate how the technical- scientific development and the subsequent implementation of Technical Systems reconfigures space and revalues its. To fulfill this task we take the electricity sector in terms of power generation, and more specifically the installation of wind farms in the brazilian northeast. We see wind farms as a "minor technical systems" that integrate the Brazilian Electric System, a "large technical system." The implementation of new technical objects - that make up the smaller systems - brings a new rationality, transforming the space legacy and redefines its current value. The modernization of the territory, through the installation of wind farms, imposes a new logic of capitalist use that disrupts the life of existing relationships and reclaims the space. The result is the regional capital that relate more among themselves than with their surroundings. What we have is an uneven geographical development, where portions of the territory receive certain amount of investments, whose ultimate purpose is the maximum reproduction of capital invested.
