Abstract

The purpose of this project is determine the expression of monocarboxilate transporters (MCTs) in the middle gluteal muscle and, in the blood red cells (BRC) from the Brazilians show jump horses, with two different levels of conditioning. To this end, sixteen Brazilian warm bloods, males and females, adults, with different levels of conditioning will be separate into two groups, a lower fitness (Lf, n=8) and another, with superior fitness (Sf, n=8). Among the indicators determining a proteomic expression of lactate and H+ transporters, specifically isoforms MCT1 and MCT4 to be related to the fitness degree, with respect to the glycolytic and oxidative capacity. Will be collected venous blood samples from each individual. To determine the expression of the muscle, will be performer a biopsy from the gluteus medius . The cells membranes of RBC are purified and gluteal muscle MCT1 and MCT4 isoforms quantified by Wastern Blot. (AU)
