Abstract

This doctoral project proposes business models for cloud computing environments that consider performance and security quality of service attributes. It will be necessary to quantify the impact on the performance of a hybrid cloud environment when different levels of security are considered. To compose the different levels of security, techniques and methodologies available in the literature will be used. Such technologies aim at ensuring the integrity, availability and confidentiality of data, addressing challenges that involve the isolation of these data across virtual machines. The behavior of the performance and security of the environment will be analyzed regarding the provision of more computational resources for virtual machines so that a high-security and high-performance service can be obtained. However, the more computational resources available for a service, the greater the cost to be paid by the client. Thus, security, performance and cost must be considered in the definition of business models. (AU)
