Abstract

This project aims to investigate the strategic activities of Amnesty International regarding Brazilian political prisoners during the Brazilian military regime (1964-85), its methods of investigation into human rights abuse charges, the strategies concerning the campaigns for publishing these charges, as well as the links between Amnesty's members and Brazilian opposition groups, which made the publishing of reports on torture possible.
