Abstract

The aim of the research is to examine the criticism of Freudian psychoanalysis by Lévi-Strauss, as expressed in some of his books (Elementary structures of kinship, La potière jalouse), in order to determine the conceptual terms in which an approximation between Freudian thought and structural anthropology would be possible. In such an examination, the criticism of Freud by Lévi-Strauss must be valued within the framework of what could have been a response of Freud to such an attack.
