Abstract

The acute arthritis is an inflammation that affects many joints, especially with advancing age, including the joints of the hands, feet and toes, and that has as invasive and painful treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of low intensity laser therapy (LLLT), a noninvasive treatment on different wavelengths and number of sessions. It will be used 60 transgenic mice of different ages (treated up to 15 weeks and 30 weeks above) in which arthritis is induced by acute injection of Zymosan A and TNF-a. The mice will be treat with LLLT in a single application and multiple sessions with different wavelengths (660nm continuous, pulsed 905nm and 905nm continuous). The analysis will be done in two ways: using the Bioluminescence, which detect the expression of nitric oxide and that their signals will have collected and analyzed by the nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis test for P <0.05. After euthanasia of the animals, collecting and fixing the hindlimbs, the histological analysis will be performed evaluating the presence of inflammatory infiltrate and the tissue formation in histological sections stained with hematoxylin-eosin, using principles of stereology using the Stereo Investigator software (MBF Bioscience, USA). Finally, the data will be statistically analyzed, verifying the normality of these. They will be subjected to parametric tests and if not show normality, will be subjected to nonparametric tests (AU)
