Abstract

The project aims the preparation and the characterization of luminescent carbon nanoparticles by the pyrolysis of organic precursors as well as the preparation of nanostructured ferrites. About carbon particles, the main point is to carry on a systematic study on the influence of the synthesis precursors on their photophysical properties once the origin and the mecanism of their luminescence are not well understood yet. About the ferrites, the goal of the project is to acquire the know-how on the synthetic procedures which are not trivial. By its end we expect to be able to produce controlled-size superparmagnetic nanoferrites.
