Abstract

This post-doc project will focus on the development of micro-enzymatic reactors dedicated to biotransformation of different analytes, important for analysis in medical area and in food industry. During the post-doc studies, the following aspects will be emphasized: First, the construction of micro reactors will be done preferentially using PMMA, due this material is transparent, easy to work and in the working group was developed methodology for sealing parts using heat and pressure; Second, chemical modification of this material is relatively easy and the literature presents some studies involving this material; Third, the group where this study will be done, have good expertise in the development of miniaturized electrochemical sensors and the possibility of built these sensors connected to the microchannels can lead to interesting devices; Fourth, in the research group the modification of electrodes is a strong research line and the utilization of modified electrodes is another interesting possibility. The final goal of this project is obtain relatively small devices that can be easily reproduced and replaced in applications where numerous analyses are necessary.
