Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the microbial biofilm present in prosthetics and facial injuries by method of DNA hybridization checkerboard and also assess laboratory antimicrobial action of three methods of cleaning on microorganisms identified in specimens made with a silicone experimental compared to a commonly employed in the art (MDX 4-4210 - baseline), after pigmentation. The specimens will be randomly divided into four groups of pigmentation: 1. Pigmented powder makeup 2. Pigmented with opacifier 3. Pigmented powder makeup associated with opacifier. As a control, specimens will be used colorless. After this first step, will be made circular 320 specimens (15 mm diameter x 3 mm thick) from an array of prefabricated glass plex, and 160 with each material, with the aim of evaluating the influence of laboratory methods care about the color change, Shore A hardness, surface roughness and water absorption of silicones. At the end, the surface of the specimens will be evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to evaluate the methods of sanitizing influenced the surface of the specimens. After obtaining the data, the data will be analyzed and analyzed statistically relevant.
