Abstract

The synthesis of heterocyclic compounds is of great importance in synthetic organic chemistry and in medicinal chemistry. We are planning to investigate the reactivity of several types of substrates (unsaturated alcohols, amines and carboxylic acids) with the combination of HTIB/I2 aiming the synthesis of O- or N-heterocycles. An important feature of this protocol is that products different from the classic conditions using I2 may be obtained. (AU)
