Abstract

The purpose of this project is the electrochemical analysis of PANI (polyaniline), PVC (polyvynil chrolide) and PANI/PVC blends. The coatings will be used as an active layer on metallic alloys and will be submited to different hard conditions, in order to accelerate the corrosion process and their effect. The mechanistic study of the corrosion inhibition and the investigation of a possible formation of a protecting interlayer between the metal and the coatings will be done. All the coatings will be characterized by different techniques in order to become evident their properties in the corrosion protection of the metallic alloys and, thus determine the ideal proportion of PANI/PVC in the corrosion inhibition. Additionally, it will be studied the formulation of a blend ink in a more adequate concentration for the corrosion inhibition, which can be possible used in the naval and airspace applications. (AU)
