Abstract

Mortar construction method is considered a particular type of concrete, since it is composed of an armature finely divided, such as wires, screens, and steel bars, and distributed in cement mortar and sand, but by its peculiar performance is a special class of material requiring treatment generally accorded to that part of the concrete, such as products for surface finishing aesthetic, protection against moisture, abrasion and corrosion. The use of mortar takes advantage over other methods of construction as the elasticity of concrete, cracking and deformation of elongation, having a great versatility of design may be used, for example, in the shelter for passengers, gutters and shelves, chairs for pool, water tanks, school desk, peels covers small and large openings, waterfalls for pools, cobograma, partitions, sculptures, slabs, trash, furniture, out-side, swimming pools, high floor, stairs draining retaining punches, awnings and precast many. Despite its advantages and diversity of use, the mortar is still little explored in Brazil in civil construction system, however, their field of research has increased since its cost is less than the concrete and use more variable, and the technique has been improved, and has been applied in various ways both components with structural function as well as ornamental architectural designs or even furniture.
