Abstract

The aim of this work is to study and compare clinical characteristics and hospital stay between patients with and without Diabetes Mellitus (DM) types 1 and 2 treated in emergency infirmary comprising the rear of the Clinical Hospital of the Faculty of Medical Sciences Unicamp, within six months after approval of this project by the ethics committee on human research site. Data will be collected uniformly and prospectively during routine hospitalization and statistically analyzed with the objective of characterizing the length of stay of these two groups of patients, based on clinical and epidemiological characteristics, presented comorbidities, and also mortality and outcome of hospitalization.
