Abstract

Both Statistical Mechanics and an important part of Theoretical Economics are concerned with the derivation of emergent behavior (or macrobehavior) from microscopic laws (or micromotives). In this PhD proposal our aim is to seek new results and models that may be of interest in Economics by using modern techniques of Statistical Mechanics. Specifically, we are interested in models of General Equilibrium with Social Interactions, models of Statistical Equilibrium of Markets and in models with Evolutionary Dynamics. (AU)
