Abstract

This project proposes to compare the poetry of two Argentine authors: Oliverio Girondo (1891-1967) and Néstor Perlongher (1949-1992). From the reading of a reversed tradition, presented in Borges' essay "Kafka y sus precursores" (1951), this work will investigate in what ways does Perlongher make Girondo his predecessor. This investigation will occur from a reading focused on the materiality of the text, a notion that is supported by the work of Claudia Lemos in "Poética e significante" (2009) and Haroldo de Campos in "A tradução como criação e como crítica" (1992). For such task to be performed, it will be necessary to go through several of their works, as well as address the stylistic conceptions of the literary movements in which they belonged: the Martín Fierro stage and Neo-Baroque. The poems that will be analyzed can be located in the books Persuasion de los días, from 1945, and En la mesmédula, from1955, by Girondo and Hule, from 1989, Parque Lezama and Aguas aéreas, both from 1990, by Perlongher.
