Abstract

This project intends to study de transition of contentious politics, within the forms of collective action, form local to the global scope, focusing the investigation of Human Rights' activism. Through the use of the political process theory, two non-profit non-governmental organizations rooted in Brazil will be analyzed - Amnesty International Brazil and Conectas - both of them representing different historical and political contexts of mobilization on behalf of rights in Brazil. The investigation will be based on the consult to documentary sources and on interviews with activist's leaders. The research aims to contribute to the empirical understanding of organizations, networks, campaigns and forms of mobilizations in Brazilian Human Rights' activism, in addition to seek the comprehension of Brazilian activists inclusion in local and transnational arenas.
