Abstract

This research project is part of the System Biogas Burner and Recorder that, after the idea patented of storage and burning of biogas, is at the current stage of approval from the official bodies, in order to adapt the original project to obtain credit carbon generated by burning methane gas under the Kyoto Protocol. The system is low cost and high reliability index, aiming low flow systems, in case, the biogas produced in sewage treatment mini-stations, in which, due to low and erratic production of biogas, does not economically justify its energy use, usually comprising only the sanitary emphasis of treatment of waste. The system comprises a telescope type gasometer, constructed with proper characteristics for storing biogas generated by any biodigestion process, and after full, a control circuit responsible for creating a hysteresis between the full and empty levels, allows burning flashing through the release of biogas by an electromechanical valve, from an electronic igniter and a flame shield, reducing the environmental impact 21 times with the transformation of methane into carbon dioxide. The system has the option to record the volume of biogas burned through a microcontroller which keeps the stored information even in the absence of electricity, sending the aggregation of volume burned through serial communication when prompted. This research project aims to study the procedures and rules governing the recovery of carbon, aiming to provide subsidies for adapting the current system.
