Abstract

The proposed project will provide the required theoretical, numerical, and computational background for the student to be introduced to an interesting application on mathematical modeling and computational simulation involving the interaction between a fluid and immersed elastic structures. The student will be exposed to knowledge which he usually would not have access in regular courses. He will be in constant contact with graduate students exchanging information and experiences from a complex and intriguing research area: biofluid dynamics.
