Abstract

This research project has as main objective to consolidate the Extended Pontecorvo Mechanism. Such a mechanism developed by our group has shown good descriptions for the phenomena of neutrino oscillations, emerging as a good explanation for the anomalies of antineutrinos from reactors and also for the Gallium anomaly. Recently, we identified a possible link of this mechanism with the energy of neutrinos produced, and, using this link was possible to propose a solution to the phenomenon of appearance of muon neutrinos in the LSND and MiniBooNE channels. It is intended in this project to find points that justify the Extended Pontecorvo Mechanism through first principles. Once the mechanism developed followed a completely phenomenological approach, we'll try, using the formalism of wave packets, linking the mechanism with the ideas well established in the literature. The first approach of this mechanism has been performed taking a series of approximations with the aim of understanding what general implications for the neutrino physics would happen. However, a more complete data analysis needs to be performed, so that is also a part of this project complement the analysis of previous data by adding various experiments, and reducing the initial hypothesis.
