Abstract

In the last decades advances in nanofabrication techniques allow the production and an intense investigation of the properties of structured and mesoscopic superconductors. Such studies have been focused mainly on the analyzes of the vortex dynamics. Recently was demonstrated, using computational simulations, the existence of a threshold line which delimits the region where a superconductor material behaves as a macro or mesoscopic sample. The student has already worked on this area and it is familiarized with the issue of the present project. It will be studied the influence of surface defects in mesoscopic superconductors by the analyzes of the vortex dynamics and the magnetic properties of such samples for some values of temperature. The results will be compared with those of homogeneous samples.
