Abstract

The project intends to investigate two rodas de choro that are held periodically in the city of São Carlos. I act in these spaces as a flute player, and I see commonalities between them, though theywere held in completely different contexts and situations. To better understand these features I use ethnomusicology in order to investigate the rodas de choro in their cultural context, seeking to understand them as performances, as well as the process of constructing their identities.
