Abstract

This project proposes an ethnography of everyday relationships of a team of ballooner known as Genies, formed 16 years ago by residents of a slum in the south of São Paulo and adjacent neighborhoods (the exact locations will be omitted). To access the call that broken relationships - forms of sociality specific contemporary urban peripheries, in frank modified in recent decades - from the position of these ballooner, research will be developed in two dimensions: 1) the internal relationships of the group ballooner , focusing on the zueiras (daily banter between members) that by spelling and mediate conflicts, outline values, morals and positions internal to the team, and 2) the relationship of these modes residents while ballooner with other broken, other classes ballooners, police, crime, and environmental laws, the media and other areas of the city. The work starts from the perspective of researcher-dweller, which is still largely a gap in the research literature.
