Abstract

This project describes a joint work between the Unicamp and the Auger INFN-Torino group aimed at the study of the muonic component of ExtensiveAir Showers. Two are the main lines of the proposed work: a contribution to the AMIGA infill extension of the Pierre Auger Observatory, with a study of the signals of its detectors, and the development and characterization of scintillator based muon counters for the upgrade of theObservatory up to the highest energies. The specific objectives and expectedresults will be described in this text. The methodology and a time schedule of thework are also presented. (AU)
