Abstract

This research project postdoctoral investigates the production and appraisal documents in the universities. The universe to be researched will be the São Paulo state universities (USP, UNICAMP and UNESP) and the University of Porto in Portugal. Universities have a unique context in relation to the documentation that produce and receive constituting the contemporary scientific archives for Odile Welfelé (2004). In it administrative and scientific documents reflect their own organizations, but also and especially the activities of teaching, research and extension. The study of the production context is critical to understanding the institutional structure and organization documents that will follow. The establishment of the file system in the universities allows the organization and management of documents. This study also aimed to analyze the appraisal instruments documents - the filing system and disposal list - as well as understand the appraisal in the light of the theory of archive science of canadian origin and reflection post-custodial developed in Portugal. Analyze comparatively the appraisal of documents in brazilian and portuguese universities to discuss the scientific memory proposed by such institutions. (AU)
