Abstract

The current energy sources from fossil fuels are not sustainable, requiring a renewable energy source to replace oil and your derivatives. The sugarcane culture is most important on the world scenario, with the relief of genetic improvement programs for their income and productivity have increased significantly. Despite bioethanol from sugarcane is a biofuel sustainable, your production generates a large amount of waste that isn't recycled. The bagasse contains cell wall cleanly and concentrated, which can be used as an energy source for the production of chemicals products such as ethanol, doubling its production without increasing the acreage. Currently, the main obstacles to the production of this fuel are the high cost of production and the need for pre-treatment of lignocellulosic feedstock. One alternative for reducing pre-treatments would be increase the content of plant cell wall polysaccharides. This work intends to isolate and characterize cell wall proteins from sugarcane, Saccharum spp, in order to meet the proteome of the cell wall of sugarcane in various tissues such as leaves and colms, in stadium development of 4 months. Picked up plants of age of 4 months to represent the plant at a young age, in its full development, and it is possible to differentiate colm and leaf. The effort to obtain cell wall proteins in colms and leaves, because they are more differentiated tissues and more related to bagasse, feedstock for cellulosic ethanol production. (AU)
