Abstract Distributed Generation associated with alternative sources has been encouraged by regulatory bodies and the Ministry of Energy in order to minimize the effects of energy crisis. At the same time, the growing concern over the environmental impact through the use of fossil fuels for power generation is a factor that drives the use of alternative sources. As a result, the use of alternative energy sources, especially those that produce energy in the continuous form and use DC-DC and DC-AC converters to be connected to the grid are the target of intense research in the academic and private sector. In this context, the project aims to develop an experimental prototype of 2kW with the use of hydrogen PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cells in order to analyze and control the operation of the fuel cell under real transient load.In addition, this project aims to develop an intelligent control of temperature, flow of hydrogen and oxygen to operate in different operating points as the energy demand of utility grid. Therefore, control aims at reducing the cost of energy production by minimizing deterioration and increasing the life-cycle of the fuel cell. | |
