Abstract

Digital culture is established as a result of the current stage of development of the productive forces, which enable both intermediality, i.e., the convergence of various media in a single device, the portability of devices extremely lightweight. The features of intermediality and portability express an ethos which extends immanently not only in the production of objects, as well as in their own human relationships, which become increasingly digitized. In this context the research objective is: to investigate how the concept of pedagogical authority is updated, by analyzing the expressions of Brazilian and English students posted on YouTube, which implies to research and reflect on the transformations of the teacher’s image in times of so-called digital culture. With the intention to investigate such interventions, it is proposed to carry out this postdoc abroad and exchanges with the research group that investigates the spreading of violence practices between teachers and students - including those that relate to the production of so-called cyberbullying - led by Prof. Dr. Chris Kyriacou, Psychology in Education and Research Centre, which is linked to the Department of Education, University of York, England. Through the analysis of the data obtained, it is hoped to reflect on how the current categorical imperative of being means being spectacularly noticed is materialized in the educational mediations, which are expressed in the demonstrations of Brazilian and English students about their teachers on YouTube.
