Abstract

The PhD thesis "Rue de Sèvres Latin-American sons" aims to study the relationship between theoretical speech mature and the architecture of some of Le Corbusier´s Latin-American collaborators, who worked directly for him in his Parisian atelier, at 35 Rue de Sèvres, in order to recognize the sources of their critical posture -materially and verbally. Our target is to verify the hypothetical collective heritage of Parisian learning in their later projects, despite the announced estrangement. This attitude is expressed in the conception process by a reading of Corbusian postulates adapted to their own and particular realities. As a part of the elaboration of our thesis, the Parisian stay described here will be used for getting primary material (plans, sketches, mails, testimonies and photographic registers of the buildings) concerning the formative years of Le Corbusier's Latin-American collaborators, in order to establish the elements taken from those internships and involved in their own later architecture. Exchange of research experiences and opinions with IPRAUS team (Institut Parisien de Recherche Architecture Urbanistique Société), composed by professors and PhD candidates with similar academic interests, as reading of other academic works relative to close subjects, are also contemplated.
