Abstract

Based on the publications by Ana Marial Amaral, the objectives of our research project are: providing an overview of the history of the performing objects, from Antiquity to the development of the basic principles of 'Puppet Theater Dramaturgy' given the potential contribution of Peter Schumann in the sixties; produce an inventory of descriptive and visual narratives - articles, photographs and drawings - of the Teather Company 'Circo de Bonecos' who consider the Puppet Theater Dramaturgy a primary technique; monitoring and following Company creative processes; recording their own historical reports; analyzing their records of previous stage performances, in particular the ones which are turned to children public and developed the handling and jointing of the figures presenting in scene technique; and organize this material by following a methodological proposal which is based on the creative process (backstage), the plays dissemination and advertising promotion (the stage), and how they are going to be received by the children audience (possibilities and expectations of the creative act). The absence of literature about how is the work that Puppet Theater Companies carries out, and the possibility to provide a record of their productions that could be use as a basis for consulting and information, led to the proposal for this research, curious to find clear answers to these questions and anxious to expand the collection of archives available for consultation.
