Abstract

It is presented in this research plan the development proposed for the parametric study with computer simulation of damages in ship structures. This work aims to study the structural integrity of a cargo ship after the occurrence of structural damage. These failures can result from a collision or stranding. Initially it will be done an parametric study of the mechanical resistance of a typical structural panel of ship. The analytical results will be then compared with the results of the computational simulations for the intact configuration. From the geometry intact, will be simulated damages whose analysis will be done with numerical simulation using ANSYS software, applying the Finite Element Method. As an application example of this methodology, will be made of the load evaluation supported by a Suezmax vessel typical before and after an hypothetical damage caused by the collision between the ships.
