Abstract

Taxonomic and phylogenetic studies of Mimosa ser. Pachycarpae and M. ser. Setosae will promote updates to its species circumscriptions and probably also the series. Taxonomic updtaes, however, must be done with caution and after comprehensive analysis of specimens, particularly types. This proposal presents a project for development of research in foreign institutions and, thus, analysis of historical collections, important for conclusion of a synopsis for the groups under study. It will also contribute to the formation of a doctor in plant systematics. (AU)
