Abstract

The biggest medicine challenger is how to care cancer disease during the pregnancy. It is very hard for both mother and fetus, and how to treat the mother without harm fetus. Studies related to nutritional supplementation can reduce the maternal and fetal suffering from nutrients loss to tumor growth. Liver tissue shows higher alterations in both pregnancy and cancer state, for this reason it is important to study this organ. Objective of this work is to analyses how nutritional leucine supplementation acts on liver metabolism in pregnant Walker 256 tumour-bearing rats, under hypothesis that this can be a positive factor to take care pregnancy until term and know the consequence and modulation process lead by leucine supplementation. Materials and Methods: Wistar female rats will be distributed in eight experimental groups: control group (C), tumor group (W), which comprehend Walker 256 tumor-bearing females rats, pregnant group (P), pregnant with tumor, which comprehend pregnancy rats that will be injected with tumor cells in second day of pregnancy (WP) and more four groups now subjected to a leucine-rich diet (L), leucine tumor-bearing group (WL), leucine pregnant group (PL) and leucine pregnant tumor-bearing group (PWL). After sacrifice, we will access the serum glucose total protein, and albumin, and evaluate the activities of alkaline phosphatase, TGO, TGP, gamma GT both in serum and liver.
