Abstract

Tropical forests are the most biologically diverse habitats in the world and are among the most threatened environments by anthropogenic disturbance. The understanding of the effects of threats like the increase of forest fires on the biodiversity of these biomes is a vital step for conservation actions. The understanding of the effects of threats like the increase of forest fires on the biodiversity of these biomes is a vital step for conservation actions. The objective of the Estágio de Pesquisa no Exterior is to analyze the collected data and conceptualize scientific papers as part of the proposal "Changes in fire regime in Southeastern Amazonia and the effects on biodiversity: The impact of recurrent fires on invertebrate communities". We will analyze how biodiversity parameters of terrestrial invertebrates respond to fire disturbance and how efficient invertebrates are as bioindicators. We will also elaborate and submit scientific papers from these analyses. (AU)
