Abstract

This project aims to analyze the social processes that arise from migration, particularly the social trajectories of identification/differentiation which occurs through the experiences of integration of the subjects. These movements are contradictory and are guided in the paradox of the current moment which can be seen by globals-locals processes. The diaspora materializes with the subjects participating in this dynamic and are, thefore, subjected to restrictions, restraints and controls of the displacement, but which, however, develop alternatives and resistances that can imply both local and global relationships. This analysis focus on the Brazilian women immigrant, from the perspective of the work, it asks how their path was defined, how the immigrant women can become established in a country that is culturally different, and what are the similarities and differences between the female work processes and the process of social identification-differentiation. We understand that the deepening of the issues related to immigration of Brazilian women in London, can greatly contribute to the construction of theoretical and methodological basis for both Geography as for other disciplines, which have been concerned with the understanding of migratory movements, their determinants and their consequences. The research carried out so far enabled us to characterize the Brazilian community in London. The data showed that the number of Brazilian women living in London is greater than the number of Brazilians men. It also shows the importance of the women in the labor market.Keywords. (AU)
