Abstract

This post doctoral research project is structured on experiments carried out by iNERTE -Instável Núcleo de Estudos de Recepção Teatral, created in 2004. The group, which is based on practical and theoretical investigations, strives to make feasible scenic encounters that are organized as studies of both the reception and the effect of the work of art, inviting the participants to focus on the act of the spectator at the theatrical event, stimulating this way the analysis of the artistic making and its possibilities of interference in social life.The first part of this research has as its objective to expand theoretical studies already developed in addition to analyze the practical experiments proposed by the group during its eight years of existence. The second part of the research will focus on the description and the critical observation of the current stage of iNERTE, initiated in 2013, that presents a new and challenging proposal: to expand the studies regarding reception and effect through systematized meeting with theater groups based in the city of São Paulo.Therefore, the research proposes an investigation of the creative process of the theatrical spectator in the contemporary world. Based on studies of theoreticians of the reception and on the proposal of meetings with the spectators, it looks to enunciate aspects of this way of production in such a way to make recognizable the stages of the poetic construction and to highlight the elements that support the notion of a spectator's art.
