Abstract

The use of satellite images is increasing nowadays due to technological innovations in the field of remote sensing, these innovations provide new tools to the cartographic community to conduct studies related to the preparation and updating of maps, there are several different satellites equipped with sensors that capture and record images of Earth's surface with high resolutions, spatial, spectral, radiometric and temporal. Because these images are some errors from both the construction of the sensors to the interference caused by the atmosphere in the spread spectrum is necessary to apply some corrections to finally be able to perform measurements on them, among the fixes is the correction due to the error caused by the relief. This work aims to evaluate the quality of a geometric Geoeye orthorectified image from different Digital Terrain Models, classifying it according to the PEC and analyzing its potential for use in mapping and cartographic updating in the urban environment.
