Abstract

This research project aims to analyze the educators' instruction for the introduction of digital technology in school offered by the Ministry of Education through the National Program of Educational Technology (Proinfo), searching the analysis material for the meanings of education and digital space that sustain that program and for the discourses that take the stage in that process. We aim to understand the meanings of technology and school at play in that process, as well as to reflect upon the kind of education to which the discourse that supports them points. The theory through which the materials will be analyzed anchors itself in the Discourse Analysis of a materialist perspective, as formulated by Michel Pêcheux (1988) in France and by Eni Orlandi (1983, 1996) in Brazil. In order to provide a backdrop, we will provide a history of the policies dedicated to introduce of new technologies in Brazilian education and of the theories regarding computing in school. We will also map the current state of the incorporation of the digital technology in the public state school of the city of Campinas, in the state of São Paulo. Our analysis material consists in the texts related to the course "Introduction to Digital Education", offered by the Ministry of Education through eProinfo, and in ethnography composed by the observation of educators of public state schools in the city of Campinas, São Paulo, in the act of preparing classes and teaching, as well as by interviews with the same subjects.
