Abstract

Introduction : Health workers are exposed to the same risks as other Brazilian workers, but is increased in this case , the occupational exposure to potentially contaminated biological materials , which are a serious risk to health professionals in their local job. Objective: to study the characteristics of the accident and of occupational exposure of health workers to biological material, assess adherence to chemoprophylaxis and examinations protocol control and / or monitoring . Methodology : This is a descriptive epidemiological study of cases of work accidents with exposure to biological material registered at the University Hospital of Taubaté in the period between 2010 and 2012 . The data will be obtained from the Accident Notification Form with Bio Health Professionals - Information System for Notifiable Diseases -Service Monitoring and Control of Hospital Infection of the hospital. Analysis: Descriptive analysis of data collected through the use of Excel and Stata Statistical Software 9.0
