Abstract

Abstract: The investigation of the role o Human Citomegalovirus (HCMV) in tumor malignancy is crucial due to its oncomodulatory effects. Like other hespervirus HCMV become latent in infected individuals and has the ability to reactivate in cases of immunodeficiency, such as cancer patients. This study aims to evaluate the resistance of HCMV infected and uninfected glioblastoma tumor cells lines to after chemotheraphy and radiotheraphy. U87 and U251 cell lines and the U87 and U251 converted to as neurosferes, used as a model for tumor stem cells in studies of drug resistance, (U87NS e U251NS) will be tested. The anti-tumor drugs temolozomida and carmustina, used in the treatment of GBM will be tested isolated or associated to radiotheraphy.
