Abstract

Leprosy presents itself today as a public health problem in Brazil. Being its main symptoms some losses dermatoneurological important, it is necessary to an early diagnosis, and appropriate treatment. Unfortunately, it is noted that the employed treatment to leprosy, MDT, despite killing the bacilli and thus prevent transmission of the disease, when not administered properly can generate cases of recurrence. Recurrences are characterized by recurrent disease. One of the criteria to characterize them is the emergence or continuation of episodes of erythema nodosum Leprosum five years after the end of treatment with MDT. In this study, we try to make an assessment of patients who underwent treatment normally but after years had episodes of ENL, requiring further treatment.
