Abstract

This project is about the study of the behavior and the aerodynamic forces on a small-scale model of 14-Bis by experimental tests in a wind tunnel. The model of Santos Dumont’s historic aircraft was built between 2002 and 2003, after several researches about its characteristics. The theoretical study of the aircraft was done as well. Then, to validate the study, it needs to be done some tests in a wind tunnel. Using the wind tunnel located in the Laboratory of Aircrafts in the campus of São Carlos (USP), after calibrating the model, tests will be conducted to analyze the aerodynamic forces and its stability.
