Abstract

The cientific work to be desenvolvolved from this project will seek to analise the recente development of process of metropolization fluminense. As intelectuals tolls to understanding this process will use the concepts of structure, forms and metropolitan functions. The analysis will be in the sense to undestand the relaction between the socioeconomic changes and the transformations in the structure, forms and metropolitan functions. The initial timeframe of study is the final of the 90s, moment marked by economic recovery of State and metropolis, after a long period of crisis, acording the literature on the theme (SANTOS, 2003; JARDIM, 2007; NATAL; 2005; PIQUET, 2000). The changes in the strucuture, forms and functions, will be of diferente ways between the metropolis and even between the áreas of a metropolis, therefore too wil be analised the direction, intensity and rhythm in wich this changes occurs.
