Abstract

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the sheep for meat production, mainly in the northwest of the state of São Paulo. The market is growing rapidly, with a greater concern with health issues. In order to achieve greater productivity, improved food security and reduction of expenses and losses stemmed from diseases it is essential to recognize such problems, so that we can devise strategies to combat these, in addition to establishing preventive measures , so that one can reduce economic losses, maximize profits and provide safe food. Through detailed analysis of questionnaires, direct observation and sampling properties the characterization of micro- flocks of sheep Araçatuba - SP, which is composed of seven municipalities will be taken. The animals should be subjected to clinical examination, through anamnesis, inspection and palpation, and made the necessary notes on terms of health, reproductive and nutritional management of these animals on their properties. During visits to the property to collect feces from rectum for monitoring will be done by counting eggs per gram of feces of various types and genres of worms as well as the culture of this. The frequency of variables will be determined with compared using the chi - square test, the significance level is 5%.
