Abstract

The objective of this work is to develope and evaluate a system for structural health monitoring of a set consisting of a bi-cantilever beam and an unbalanced electric motor coupled to the beam. The process of monitoring will be done by analysis of dynamic signals received by three types of sensors, two of which are piezoelectric patches and the other is a low cost accelerometer. The signals from these transducers are acquired by an low cost Arduino microcontroller which is has open source architecture. Results of the experimental tests will be compared with data obtained by commercial acquisition system.
