Abstract

The residual and transported soils (clay), collected in the region of the Ribeira Valley, municipality of Eldorado Paulista (SP), were previously characterized, as the geological and geotechnical aspects to determine whether they could be used as liner in disposal of mining waste. In these tests it was verified that the transported soils (clay) are more suitable, mainly due to its higher clay fraction, higher fines content, higher CEC and higher organic matter content. In this context, seeking to complement previous studies with these soils, it is intended to perform tests of balance batch (using intervals of 24 and 48 hours) with Pb,Zn and Cd concentrations of 30, 60, 90 and 120 mg/kg, to determine if these soils are suitable to be used as sealants barriers in areas of mining waste disposal enriched in Pb and Zn, from the determination of adsorption capacity. After the tests of balance batch, adsorption isotherms, which will serve to indicate the adsorption capacity of residual soil and transported, will be generated. (AU)
