Abstract

The prostate is a male sex gland accessory with an important role in the reproductive process. The biological processes in the prostate gland such as cell proliferation and differentiation, secretion and tumor growth are regulated and/or influenced by different factors, positive and negative angiogenic growth. Alcoholism and smoking have been associated with various cancers, but the association with prostate cancer is controversial. Many extrinsic factors such as hormones, genetic and environmental factors, are potentially mitotic agents, and other substances such as ethanol and nicotine has been linked to endocrine gland. Nicotine can change the homeostasis of the nervous system, cardiovascular, endocrine and genital. Studies have reported that nicotine reduces fertility. A change due to chronic use of nicotine and alcohol certainly compromises the reproductive process by glandular deregulation. Little is known about the biological mechanisms that influence the association between exercise and prostate, studies suggest a correlation between the realization of physical exercise and the decrease in cancer development, it is known that exercise promotes different biological adaptations resulting in several health benefits, the aerobic endurance training, has the capacity to increase the individual's aerobic capacity (maximal oxygen consumption) and increased oxidative capacity (maximal oxygen consumption) and increased oxidative capacity. The objective of this study was to analyze of this study is to verify and analyze the morphological effects of chronic ethanol and nicotine associated with aerobic training in the prostate of Wistar rats. Will be used 60 young male Wistar rats, divided into four groups: control group; smoker group; alcoholic group; smoker and alcoholic group; exercise control group; exercised smoker group; exercised alcoholic group; exercised alcoholic smoker group. The alcoholic groups will receive 10% ethanol, the groups will be submitted smokers inhaling smoke and exercised groups hold exercise protocol for 60 days. After the experiment, the animals suffer euthanasia. The intermediate and distal region of the ventral prostate is collected and dissected and processed for histological, morphological and immunohistochemical.
